Every time Indian team loses an away series, a lot of hue and cry is raised about India not having bouncy pitches. Most often, teams like Oz, New Zealand, England, have fared dismally in the Sub-Continent. Did they go back and made rank turners? No.
Each cricketing nation has a unique culture. And one should respect the culture and be true to it. For example, Australians play tough cricket and they ruthless on the field. They sledge, it is their way of putting pressure on opponents. Does that mean BCCI, should teach budding cricketers at NCA to sledge? No. We Indians have stuck to rather gentlemanly ways. Then why making a run for bouncy green-tops?
If Asian teams adopt pitches like those of Aussie, New Zealand, England or South Africa, doesn't cricket become tawdry and boringly homogeneous. We Indians should be proud of the fact, that we supply world cricket with a delightful dose of variety. That's the reason stalwart skippers like Steve waugh, Naseer Hussain etc., think India is a final frontier.
BCCI should raise the coaching standards. Young cricketers should be subjected to a lot of overseas exposure. Coaches should encourage the players to be multidimensional, that is someone who can be both left and right handed batsmen/bowler. Bowlers who can bowl spin and pace. Above all, coaches should build the physical and psychological endurance. Psychological endurance allows players to adapt their game to the situation. And playing away from home is one(such) situation.
